The Harang-a-tang pitched a dandy, getting beaten only by some ball antics after a walk and hilarious error for the only two Doyer runs. Wait, now I have a question -- if a run scores on an error that the pitcher commits, then is that an earned run?? Guess we'll never know.
But even better was seeing the boys put a charge into a few pitches for some BOMBS by Luddy, Hot Rod Hundley and Killa Cam Maybin (in addition to his triple, all with Cam coming OFF THE BENCH). It's good for them to shake that Petco Park voodoo and realize that it's physically (I mean physics, not physical) possible to hit a home run at home.
I won't get into how abysmal the offense has been bc the stats make eyes bleed, but it's been BAD. Like they might as well of brought lawn chairs with them to first/second/third base because no need to be anything besides comfortable while you wait to go back on D and not score. Anyway it was awesome to see the boys dawn the digital Sunday unis to take down the no good rotten neighbors to the north.
I'm still a little disappointed by the noise level of the Doyer fans compared to our Pads fans. Like the 'ackin like they hot shyt' Giants fans, the LA fans roll deep and make their presence known. We / you should change that. But winning really makes that aspect okay. So I'll just take the winning.
Also Nick Hundley has the funniest walk-away-from-the-plate after a swing and a miss. Like an angry 10 year old determined to show those guys he doesn't care what anyone says about his clothes. Stay hot Nick, and bring Ludwick with ya.
On to the Reds!
